Kinesiology
Kinesiology is interpreted as the teaching of movement. This holistic method refers less to movement exercises but to bring into movement the personal development.
In this kinesiology method, developed by Solihin Thom, attention is given to the present and upcoming learning and growth processes, which are shown through symptoms and problems.
More about the history of ontological kinesiology…
There are numerous methods of kinesiology in which this form has been developed during the last 25 years from the original form of kinesiology and integrates the latest perceptions of such development work.
Ontological kinesiology was developed by the English osteopath Solihin Thom, who was a student and colleague of the founder of kinesiology Dr. Georg Goodhard (applied kinesiology, founded around 1960) and by Dr. Alan Beardall, the founder of clinical kinesiology. Today, Solihin Thom progresses ontological kinesiology further, along with his students and colleagues Stephen W. Hruschka and Markus R. Blocher.

The aim of this holistic approach is to recognize the origin of symptoms and to understand the message of illnesses, pain and problems.
These messages can be retrieved by using the body as a mediator for information from deep layers of the consciousness.
Through the help of the kinesiological muscle test, mudras and additional techniques, the situations at issue are not only intellectually grasped, but also the access to information from deeper layers of consciousness is established. The client is brought in contact with such information and is accompanied during the confrontation. The symptoms may be resolved as soon as their message was understood and processed. If needed, craniosacral bodywork and the 2-point method are integrated in the session.
Dealing with upcoming processes of development within ourselves happens on an intellectual level as well as an unconscious level.
The approach of ontological kinesiology allows the collection of information — that was covered up until then — which, assembled together, enables to create a holistic illustration of the client’s situation.
Therefore ontological kinesiology is a method, which offers a bigger picture of the “whole”.
Ontology is the study of being. How did we get be where we are now? In the ontological kinesiology this means enabling a lasting personal development through symptoms and topics from pain and allergies to decision difficulties, burnout and relationship problems.
Amongst others, this means:
- to recognize and appreciate what we feel in this particular moment
- to deal with oneself and with life
- to be fully present in the here and now
- to use one’s own resources and potential
- to get out of inherited patterns and pressures that are no longer useful
- to remove our masks
- to ENJOY LIFE
